On this blog I write about my research in Vietnamese music. It's not updated very regularly, mostly while I am doing field work in Vietnam, but may have some interesting information for other people interested in Vietnamese music nevertheless.
This blog started out as a way of documenting the final paper of my and my friend Olof Göthlin's teacher's degree from the Malmö Academy of Music in 2008. In 2009 me and another member of our Vietnamese ensemble (www.myspace.com/ojzaioj), Pia Qvarnström, stayed in Hanoi for three months, from 6/1 to 5/4 - 2009, and used the blog once again to write about our experiences of learning Vietnamese Chèo, Tuồng and Ca trù music. Pia also taught eurythmics to teachers at the Vietnamese National Academy of Music in Hanoi, her experiences of Hanoi and teaching can be read about on her blogs (http://vietrytmik.blogspot.com and http://vietpia.blogspot.com). Since 2010 I write the blog myself.
